Muslim Commercial Bank (Projec t)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Department of Management sciences require its student of M. Phil (Master of Management Philosophy) to undergo an eight week’s internship program in a reputed organization. To fulfill this academic requirement and being a student of finance, I did my internship in Muslim commercial bank limited, Branch mansehra. During internship, the banking transactions in various departments were observed. The report has been written with reference to all activities being conducted in MCB.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the bank day to day transaction.
The evaluation is done in order to find out the problems in the working off the bank affairs. The recommendations are based on the analysis of the data collection during internship both from primary data source & secondary data sources.
The management and organizational structure of MCB is in conformity with organizational structure of other nationalized banks. This is become of fact that MCB was once operating in public sector. The board of director is the main controlling body looking after the affair of the banking. The board consists of president, being nominated by the government and directors.
The bank like other commercial banks has the basic objective of mobilization of resources and reinvesting them in profitable avenues. In order achieve this objective; the bank has developed innovative schemes in order to attract the depositors. MCB has successful in out playing other banks as far as innovations in deposit schemes are concerned. MCB has been able to locate opportunities in order to reap the benefits of its liquidity. There are various functions involved in securing deposits and reinvesting them for obtains profit. MCB has organized the department in such a way that the banking functions are done smoothly.
The bank has participated in self employment scheme for promotion of the small and medium size industries in Pakistan. Total assets of the bank have also increased day by day which represent stable operation of the MCB. The MCB, has however some deficient which needed to traced out, some of those can be attributed to the overall environment of the bank where as some deficient are specified to MCB. The TOWS analysis has however indicated that the bank is at advantages position. MCB has requires expertise to put the operations in right direction. Proper attention to these issues will be starting point. The bank is capable enough to take over the gray area.
