CHAPTER NO 2

INTRODUCTION TO AFAQ
2.1       Introduction
 AFAQ (Association for Academic Quality) is an independent not for profit organization, established with a view to supervisory promote education and uplift educational standards through its various school support programs .it has developed a comprehensive curriculum, keeping in mind the modern scientific requirements in line with the national ideology. It is especially endeavored to help teachers inculcate national spirit and Islamic values in students .AFAQ curriculum is being implemented in thousands of schools throughout Pakistan. A highly committed and thoroughly professional group of people, forming the Board of Directors, vows to develop the educational system by providing professional and support.

2.2 OVERVIEW
           
AFAQ is an independent, and not for profit organization established with a view to promote education and uplift educational institutions in Pakistan. AFAQ is a collaborative venture of six major not for profit organizations/trusts working in education sector to promote literacy rate in Pakistan. AFAQ is an effort to join hands, to share experiences, and to support individual activities against one common enemy "Illiteracy." The basic purpose of establishing AFAQ is to develop an education system, which must meet the requirement of modern, scientific, and dynamic world while following Islamic Ideology. Since its existence, AFAQ has become a common platform to achieve this common goal.
AFAQ has developed a very committed, dedicated, and dynamic team working in many dimensions to uplift educational standards. AFAQ's Research & Development team has developed a very comprehensive curriculum up to class 8 and is being taught in thousands of schools nationwide. AFAQ's Training division has developed effective teachers training programs and has trained more than 2000 teachers. AFAQ Publisher is working efficiently to provide high quality books and learning materials. AFAQ's Marketing and sales Division is working dynamically to create awareness and to expand AFAQ's operations in the country.

2.3 History of AFAQ
AFAQ is an independent, not for profit organization, that is working for the uplift of education standard in Pakistan. it started its struggle in 1997 when a collaborative venture of six major not for profit organization that were already working in the formal education sector.
AFAQ is in effort to join hands, share experience and to support individual activities against one common enemy “illiteracy”.
The basic purpose of establishing AFAQ is to develop an education system, which must mean the requirement of modern, scientific and dynamic world while following Islamic ideology.

2.4       AFAQ VISION STATEMENT
 AFAQ curriculum aims at producing individuals whom are balanced in harmonies intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically having unshaken beliefs and devotion to Allah. to promote excellence and teaching and learning in an environment that poster respect for self and others so that each student gain knowledge, skill and attitudes needed to participate responsibly in society.






2.5 MISSION STATMENT
           School mediates between future and present. Destiny comes closer when schools become frontrunner. In the name of Allah, to serve the cause of Islam and Pakistan, AFAQ would contribute in holistic development of schools, teachers, and pupils. Keeping in view the contextual framework and global standards, AFAQ will generate educational resources, support services, and learning programs employing all mediums in non-governmental setting.
