Afaq Enterprises (Chapter-7)

7.7 Peshawar
Regional office Peshawar launched its training activities in December 2004. But as there was no auto mobile facility, the number of training activities was limited. Meanwhile, Muslim aid, as a boon, bridged this chasm and caused the following productive activities.
Training facilities provided in the areas with out mobile training unit
o Shangla
o Malakand Agency
o Karak
o Bannu
Areas where trainings were not conducted due to non accessibility and un availability of conveyance
o Dir Upper
o Kohistan
o Kohat
o Hangu
7.8 Sindh & Balochistan

Before MTU, Afaq Training Activities in Sindh region were restricted in Karachi city only, due to limited resources and traveling facilities. But today it is possible for us to travel through the farthest and remote areas of the region.
Some of the districts we covered after the availability of Mobile Training Unit are given below
o Shikarpur
o Nowshehro Feroz
o Sukkhur
o Larkana
o Qambae Shahzad Kot

Due to modern and latest equipment the presentation skills of the trainers were also improved and flourished. Beside this, these affect the learning of the participants in terms of the motivational level towards the training.
7.9 Lahore
Same is the case in Punjab region. After the MTU there is no district which we did not covered during our training activities. We used MTU to travel to almost all the districts of Punjab province.
MTU made it possible to travel any where and at any time. Since the use of MTU training has extended its frontiers to the areas which once were considered out of reach or neglected because of mobility sources.

According to the table, given above, we have trained 22735 Teachers/Principals of 7895 different private schools in two years using Mobile Training Units and other Training Equipment, generously donated by Muslim Aid.
7.12 Some Major Successes after MTU
After having Mobile Training Unit and other modern training equipments AFAQ was able to up grade their training standards and to cover wider area for its training activities and this ability lead AFAQ to have some joint ventures with other leading and prominent national and international organizations, working in education sector.
In Punjab, we have a joint venture with Punjab Education Foundation (PEF), so far we have conducted more than 50 Training workshops with them and we have trained more than 1000 teachers and 500 Principals through this joint exercise, while the numbers of benefited schools are over 700. Appreciating our efforts in this regard, PEF has rated us as the one and only of its partner organizations which is able to conduct training workshop at any where in Punjab. (www.pef.edu.pk)
We also had a joint venture with UNESCO in Dir (NWFP).
In NWFP, we also had a joint venture with Aga Khan Education Services, Pakistan (AKES, P) at Chitral in Aug 2006 and then again in Nov & Dec 2006, and they have asked us to continue this partnership.
Mobile Training Unit and other training equipments, donated by Muslim Aid, played a great role in these achievements.
7.13 Sum Up
To sum up, mobile van has greatly assisted AFAQ in carrying training visuals & supporting tools such as multimedia display screen, UPS, laptop, white board etc. not only the above, but mobile van has also saved the precious time of trainers and that is why the ratio and graph of training activities has been greatly raised as compared to the previous activities of AFAQ. Also other training equipments such as multimedia and laptop helped us a lot in raising our training standards and fulfilling training needs of our teachers.
Logo on MTU has been quite helpful in the projection of Muslim Aid Pakistan (MAP) as well as Association For Academic Quality (AFAQ) through out the country. It also strikes the minds of locality, where it moves. to get awareness about the organizations. To further catalyze this process of pedagogical grooming, training and sprucing, Muslim Aid ought to make its bestowing universal.
FUTURE PROSPECTIVE
AFAQ future perspective

Currently AFAQ (Association for academic quality) have one Head office in Faisal town Lahore , sale & account office in Lahore , AFAQ Book shop Urdu Bazar Lahore and four Regional offices such as Regional office Lahore ,    Regional office Peshawar , Regional office Karachi and Regional office Quetta .
Regional office controls the activities across their area. they sent teacher educator , Master trainer for training  across the province and receiving immediate feed back is very difficult therefore they want to divide the  Regional office in divisional bases. In this way teacher educator , master trainer and promotion officer would be easily give their report to  divisional manager . adopting this way TA DA of teacher educator , master trainer and promotion officer will be minimized and as will the activities  of the Regional manager will also minimized . in this way divisional manager would give report  to Regional office and then they would forward to Head office.
Regional offices Peshawar have started these activities. Currently Chitrall have got on divisional office; and after some time Malakand would b also made divisional office .but they want to divide the Regional offices activates in divisional office by incremental rates .in this way the Regional offices activates would be minimized and TADA of teacher educator, master trainer and promotion officers would be minimized in this way they would be able to save their resources .
