Management Information System of NWFP (Project Report) Editorial & Procurement Department


 (EDITORIAL & PROCUREMENT DEPARTMENT)


1.                  To watch and supervise all the functions of the Editorial & Procurement Branch.
2.                  All the functions for publication/production of textbooks printed through printers as Board’s own publication.
3.                  To recommend names of authors. Reviewers, editors and to appoint Proofreaders.
4.                  To plans research projects, seminars, workshops and preparation of all sorts of reading material as per ordinance.
5.                  To procure manuscripts and to recommend payments to authors, reviewers, editors, copyists and proofreaders.
6.                  To recommend release of textbooks.
7.                  To ensure that curriculum is reflected in the textbooks.
8.                  Other functions as per ordinance and duties assigned by the Board/Chairman.
9.                  To plan and supervise the activities of the Research & Statistic cell.



DUTIES OF THE SUBJECT SPECIALISTS

1.      To assist Member (E&P) in the performance of his functions and to give technical advice to him with regard to their subject.
2.      To recommend the approval of manuscripts.
3.      To recommend specifications.
4.      To recommend prices, release of textbooks for sale.
5.      To process payment to authors editors and proofreaders etc.
6.      To carry out comparative study of textbooks and curricula.
7.      To recommend the issue of print order after review and rending of final proof.
8.      To work as language expert
9.      To advise collection of printing, material, i.e. calligraphy, block films, drawing design publishers/printers and dismantling used material with the approval of Member (E&P) also on its use in next addition.
10.  To see that no such matter is included in the books, which does not confirm with our National and Islamic ideology.
11.  To prepare suggestion for improvement of textbooks.
12.  To contribute as coauthor of the relevant subjects textbooks to be newly developed /written without additional remuneration.
13.  To act as convener/editor of the textbooks to be newly developed/written in accordance with the new curricula, in order to give manuscript a presentable shape for submission to the curriculum wing.
