PREFACE

All praises to almighty Allah, who gave me the courage, knowledge and determination to accomplish this task of completing this project. We study a wide variety of courses but do not get an opportunity to know about the practical implementation of these courses. This writing is a perform through which the student get an in-depth knowledge of what is actually being done practically and apply the knowledge that they gained through books. This is an opportunity for students to apply theoretical knowledge and give practical experience about public and private organization any other issue and their practices and procedure. The purpose of the report is to evaluate the performance of the organization, discuses any issue in detail and give concrete recommendation for improvement.
For my practical work and research I selected the well-known organization PAK NET Ltd and my study was focuses on the marketing planning and the services of PAK NET.
I have exclusively studied and observed the organization structure, customer services, departmentation and personal administration of the company and for market analysis as conducted survey on the target market. Time give for thesis writing was not sufficient to understand the dynamic market and its operation fully but still it was a great experience to have a feel of the practical world and keeping in view the limitation of the study, this seem a reasonable attempt. At the end I would like to say thanks to all those people who help me during my report writing.
 First and foremost is the WLL department staff of PAK NET Ltd. They guided me to get practical knowledge of different department by rotating me into different section. Secondly I pay my heartiest thanks to my supervisor MR. Adil Pracha who help me in the completion of my internship report.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In the modern world no one can neglect the impotence of Internet in the business as well as in common life. Different companies are providing these facilities in different area at different cost and speed.
In Pakistan, ISPs started to provide services in 1996. Today, the ISP market in Pakistan is booming, and new ISPs are being set up at a regular interval. Currently, the ISP market in Pakistan has a large number, 122 licensees. This shows there is an increasing trend in the 
Internet market business and numbers of ISPs are increasing over the years. According to the PTCL, Pakistan has 250,000 Internet subscribers by the year 2000 but still these are lower compared to other regional countries.
The Pakistan government has taken initiatives to spread the Internet in the country. For this purpose, Internet accessibility has been made available at local charges just by dialing 031. Within few years almost 95 per cent of the population will be on line and 450 cities will be connected to the Internet. PTCL is decreasing the higher charges of leased lines for the ISPs. International leased line charges have been decreased five times in the last three years. Currently, 53 per cent reduction has also been made. PTCL is also decreasing the domestic leased lines charges. PTCL has recently decreased the bandwidth charges by 25 per cent. On the other hand to enhance the data processing rate, the government has taken steps to ensure using of 128 kilobyte per second (Kbps) loop line by the ISPs. For the time being, ISPs are using the 64Kbps loop line for the data communication.
